My role as consultant is partly from a
psychoeducational perspective. I partner with clients
in order to teach as well as learn from them about
their particular difficulties. I let them know how
changing their thinking and behavior can help them
feel better and know what works to accomplish that!

sought Board Certification and am one of the first in
Houston to be board certified in Family Psychology
(ABPP). I have taught both graduate and
undergraduate psychology at Texas Woman's

Biography
Peter C. Cousins, Ph.D., ABPP
I went to school at Oberlin College where I got a
Bachelors in Psychology with honors. I graduated
from Oberlin with Phi Beta Kappa and attended
graduate school at the University of Houston where I
earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. After doing
my internship at the Texas Research Institute of
Mental Sciences I headed up Psychological Services
at Houston International Hospital, I was a
psychologist at the University of Texas Health
Science Center, and was an Adjunct Assistant
Professor at Texas Woman's University before
starting my private practice in Houston and Humble.
I have two children, a wife and a dog, not always in
that order. I have been told I have a dry sense of
humor.
